The Glow

The Glow

I can’t tell you how many messages I have gotten since posting this photo, so let’s talk about “the glow”!

First things first, I have to acknowledge the genetics piece of it, because I’ve always had fairly clear skin. Yes, I get pimples - even at 43 (eye roll at pre-menopause) but over all, it’s pretty good.

Now to the stuff you really want to know. My skin care routine is as follows and I use the word routine VERY loosely because I’m so lazy about it!

  1. I use charcoal make up wipes or cleanser from E.L.F (I’m also cheap) to remove make-up or end of the day wiping my face.

2. To moisturize, I use coconut oil. Yes, I know it won’t work for everyone but it does for me and this blog is what I use, so use your own discretion.

3. I have crows feet / fine lines wrinkles around my eyes. It’s not bad, but I have been using an eye cream. Again, I’m not loyal to a specific brand. I use what I find interesting/new or on sale. Right now, I’m using this:

4. Internal Stuff:

I drink water, no more water then you think you need. The actual formula is to take your body weight, divide it in half and drink that many ounces of water. Example: if you weight 200 pounds and you divide that in half, you get 100 - you should drink 100 ounces of water a day.

Eat well, blah, blah, blah! We need skin, hair, nails are a result of inside habits.

I also LOVE fresh pressed juice and when I can’t get it fresh, the Citrus Radiance is my go to. I’m not saying it’s magic but it’s definitely doing something and I know that the ingredients are good for you!

5. My secret sauce is the stuff from Revlon! Listen, I don’t know what’s in this stuff and how it does what it does, but it is out here doing the lords work!!! The glow is from this! Go buy it, now! I got it for as a sample from Influencer, but I’ve since bought a full size bottle and it is legitimately the best $12 I’ve ever spent!! In this picture, I’m not wearing foundation. Just coconut oil, this primer, mascara, lip gloss. I use a nickle size amount all over if I’m not wearing additional make up. I use it just on my cheeks, forehead and nose if I’m putting foundation on top of it.

It also helps that I am currently ridiculously happy and stable in my life. I’ll throw in yoga and piece of mind and minding my business as major keys too.

My one word for 2020 was #Unbothered and I remain just that.
